where are the butterflies ?

Last week I saw an orange butterfly. The second one this month. Butterflies are a rare sight so when I saw it I got all jumpy in the van. “OHHHHH look a butterfly !”, I screamed for the whole world to hear. Anyway three or 4 days back I saw on GEOtv (Pakistani news channel) about these kids in Karachi who were telling the news reporter how they don’t see any butterflies any longer. When they were telling this their eyes were sad and so soulful, I felt like going and hugging each one and saying “come lets go, we will all go look for butterfly”. (don’t get me wrong. I am no Pied piper. And I would bring the kids back) The news in the end added that because of the pollution all the butterflies were dying out. Its so sad. First of all a species is being wipe out second of all little children are not able to enjoy a butterfly flying from one flower to another. Its been haunting me since then. Human being are such experts in killing species out that I am afraid that one day beautiful animals would be things in the books. Little kids would be either be learning about these animals, birds or fishes in the extinct section or the endanger section. (will we ever learn ???)

Anyway I am pathetic when it comes to changing or steering the subject away. My uncle say that I always mess up my writing because everything is so jumble up. Is there anyway I can improve ? Any ideas ? Just asking because in my writing I want to be more clear and descriptive ! And more funny. Its nice to make people laugh. Some people have the knack of it. I fall under the category of not having the knack. But I guess I do have my moments. Anyway that’s all for today folks. Take care everybody. Enjoy life and do dream !

PS keep a watch out for April Fool pranks. With my friends and siblings I will be on my toes the whole day tomorrow

I'm gonna fly higher

Truth be told today I wanted to write about a lot of things. The whole morning I kind of thought about topics I wanted to write but now my mind is as blank as the post page I am typing on. I guess I will start with “Kiki’s delivery service”. Its an animated movie by Hayao Miyazaki. Personally I think his movies are amazing. I am dying to see his not so latest one “Howl’s Moving castle”. What I like about his movies are they good combination of morals and good sense of humour and uniqueness. “Spirited Away” one of his animated movie even won the oscar. Any way Kiki’s Delivery Service is all about accepting who you are and to be able to say proudly “yes this is me. I am different and I am proud of it”. Its also about finding your insparation. The story starts with a little witch named “kiki” (duh!) who has turned 13. Every witch who turns 13 has to leave her home and go to another town for training. Basically she has to earn her own living as well do her magic. So Kiki leaves her home with her black cat “gigi” and finds this beautiful city near a ocean like she always dreamed. But the people of the city doesn’t turn out to be the way she dreamt and that’s when reality strikes. She still sticks to the city (I would have certainly gone back home) and meet wonderful people. And that’s whats the story is about. Actually kind of. You will have to see it for yourself to find out. The songs in this movie is beautiful.

So I'm gonna fly
Higher than I ever could
And feel the wind blow through my hair
Feel the sun dance with the moon
And my feet can't stay on the ground any longer
With every leap of faith
I feel a little stronger
Wanna swing on the star in the big blue sky
Don't wanna watch it all go by
So I'm gonna fly
And see for myself what it looks like from up there
And taste the stardust in my mouthA
nd chase the clouds until they disappear
And if I can make just one life better
Bring a smile to your face when your under the weather
Then I'm feelin' like I've finally found my home
I'll plant the seeds and watch them grow
And I'm gonna fly

It’s the type of the song you will hum when you feel you are closer to your dream or when you achieve the unachievable in your books. You know as you grow old and reality sinks into you , one stops believing in a lot of things. There are days when you see the news and you wonder if you be the next one to die due to result of some hatred. There are days when you just want to stop dreaming. “No more castles in the air” you say to yourself. (At least that’s what I say to myself). There are also days when you lose faith in goodness. You start believing that nobody is worthy of your trust. But then that little thing happens or some stranger smiles at you on a rainy day or a little baby grins back to you or your first poem get published or you get to hear a compliment out of the blue or you get a letter from an old dear friend who had disappeared or when you are hungry you come home to find that your mom has cooked your favorite dish especially for you.. And suddenly things start looking less foggier. This happens a lot of times to me. Don’t know about you guys. At the end of the day I am glad that I believe and have faith in lot of things.
I think that’s all for today. I am kind of smiling now thinking about all those little things that made such difference in my life. That saved me from my fogginess.

PS i am gonna fly higher.
PPS i forgot. You are now reading the post of a person who has landed herself in the editing deparment of her university newsletter. (my university decided to start with something small for now and see how people react to it)

ciao

Coughing mania

Hello Everybody ! Really missed you guys and the blog. And also the typing part. You know I did want to drop in a line in the blog but do you the remember the cough I mention last week well it took a turn for the worst and so I had to give my tests in a zombie-like state (instead of being a quiet zombie I was a very loud coughing one. So each day this week all I was able to do was study with much difficulty and cough with total ease). It was horrible going to the university these days as everyday I woke with no energy. I was very tensed about the tests and the fact that I was restless all the time didn’t help me in giving my tests. In fact today I gave my math’s paper in a very feverish state. I had a slight head-ache and my brain wasn’t cooperating with me. This caused 2 silly mistakes that cost me 8 marks. (I am so upset about that) On the day I had my business test I felt sorry for my classmates as I was coughing after very 1 Nano- second meaning coughing non-stop. They were very nice about it and didn’t complain. (Although I can’t guarantee mentally-cursing me) Overall I think I did “ok” in my tests. Or maybe I have done well, I will only find out next week. (I have one test left on Sunday though)

Since I was coughing around the university people kept giving me advices so that I would get well soon. Some were very unique and some very soothing.

What to do and not to do when you keep coughing ALL THE TIME ?
Eat Ice-cream (Hydroxide’s advice)
Drink lots of water
Warm water, mix iodine salt in it, stir it and inhale the steam
Warm water, mix salt and gurgle with it early in the morning
Take mustard or olive oil , warm it, massage it on neck before sleeping.
Rest !
Don’t eat chips. (My friend who told me this caught me 4 times after she said it and so now I am labeled as a “stubborn” person. I suppose I do deserve it)
Don’t eat anything sour or spicy. Especially pickles !!! ( I don’t don’t know how I survived without pickles for 4 days.It was like a death sentence)
Drink warm milk mixed in honey. (my favourite one. Was very soothing)
Go to the Doctor

I am sure there were even more advices but can’t remember. My mom was really upset. The thing that made my coughing worst was eating pickles last friday when she had warned me and I foolishly and stubbornly did eat it and so suffered due to my own actions. ( I feel so silly about it now)

I think this is enough for today. As you can read this is a very coughed-obsessed post. Anyway take care people !Have fun !

Discrimination

Hello people ! Lovely day it was today. Although was forced out of bed again at 9:15am by mom. Anyway it was a lazy Friday. My attempt to study was disastrous !!! When I sit down to study , I hate getting up to do anything so usually I pile up all my books and stationary and make myself comfortable where ever I intend to study. Most of the time I do know where my things are but today all my things seem to disappeared. It was like looking a needle in a haystack !! When I collected all my stuff and sat down after 5 minutes I realized papers from my files were missing. I freaked out as they were important papers. So 10 minutes went searching for those papers. Afterwards when I found those papers (finally) and when I think everything is perfect I start to have hiccups as well a continuous coughing fit. I got so annoyed. I mean why do I have to cough and get hiccups at the same time !! Anyway when I get up to have a glass of water my annoying hiccups go. I sit down for the second time and then it’s the sound my siblings are creating from the other room that’s has me on my feet again. So now I am not really sure that with all the distraction and noise that I succeeded in studying anything.

I read this interesting article by chance today. I think it was last week and my mom wanted me throw it out and I happen to glance the paper and saw this article. It was about discrimination in the French labor market. How white people are chosen over black people. In fact when the interviews are taking place the people are categorized by their colour. The president of the French Human Right League (Jean Pierre Dubois) said “The official position of France is that we're all equal .The problem is that it's not true. French businesses and the French people are not yet used to diversity." This line struck a chord. How can anybody not be used to diversification? Don’t’ we live in the 21rst century where all business is globalizing? If French people are not used to diversity then I am guessing that are facing huge losses !!! I can never stand discrimination of any sorts. Maybe it was appropriate in a time when people use to believe that the world is flat but now when you hear about discrimination I get this image of a very dumb and narrow- minded person in my mind. No religion ask for colour specification so why do we ???
Anyway that’s all for today folks. Take care!

Anyway some of them are my favourite blogs while some are my favourite websites. Do check them out if you want to. I will keep adding to my link list as I have tonnes of favourite website but now I don't have the time. Anyway enjoy !

23rd March 2005

Today’s Pakistan’s National day as well my dad’s birthday. We did celebrate my dad’s birthday nicely although I can’t say the same thing about my country national day. My mom cooked “haleem” which is this great spicy Pakistani food and we had this yummy fruit creamy birthday cake. Today my university was also celebrating Pakistan National day but wasn’t able to go as I would have been stuck there the whole of morning and evening. (wanted to spend time with my dad) Plus I have this very bad cough and surprisingly it got worst after I took my medicine. Whenever I cough my throat feels strained and it really hurts and after I took the medicine I started coughing more so I am really annoyed. Everybody is sleeping now in my house as it’s late and my cough is echoing in every room.
In Pakistan today national day was celebrated with much zeal and enthusiasm. It’s really nice to watch. Lot of awards was also given out to people who deserved them. And yesterday Pakistan won the series against Sri Lanka. ( I am keeping my fingers crossed that this might be a sign of some winning streak)
I have 3 tests coming up next week. I haven’t prepared a bit for it. I will be studying tomorrow and day after tomorrow diligently hopefully. I am kind of worried that I might get sick as my mom warned me about it. You know when your mom predicts or warns you about something there’s a good chance of it happening if you don’t take precautions. I also need to come up with a good idea for my presentation. I seem to have piled up a lot of work for myself. Don’t you hate it when that happens. Anyway here’s some food for thought. We are doing Permutations and Conditions in Math. The simple way to describe it is that if you are given some objects Permutations help you predict the number of ways you can arrange it. Ok the surprising part, suppose you have six books, there’s actually 720 ways you can arrange those books differently. (very strange, I wish I had the time to actually see it myself) Anyway gotta go. Take care people and breath ! (breathing helps clear your mind)

Last time I checked human beings did have their limitations. But I don’t think so this is the case right now. The thing was somebody I know suffered a loss. Her grandfather died but she can’t take a week off let alone a day to go and meet her family. That’s so unfair ! I mean we are not robots that can work 24/7 without no feelings or emotions. I know one should keep their business life separate from personal life but there are breaking points. I felt like storming into her office and demanding that they give her a break. Then because I couldn’t do anything I felt so frustrated and upset. Frustration and being upset doesn’t make a good combination in me. Because if I talk with somebody I might get annoyed with him or her or break into tears…….Of course then the person gets flabbergasted and starts wondering what he or she has done to deserve my tears or anger. Anyway this is What happened yesterday and my mood was totally off. Even the weather was dreary, sad and unpredictable like me. I am facing the same weather today although my mood is very much better.

Language problem

If there was a shop and you would buy anything things like knowledge, confidence, patience what would you buy ? I would buy knowledge of language… mainly “urdu”…. Even though urdu is my mother tongue I don’t have the grasp of it. In fact it is so pathetic that people have quiet a laugh when they hear my version of it. I have tried to improve it but then something or the other always happen and I forget or get wrapped up in my studies. For language you need good practice and that’s what I am not able to do. At home most of the time when I am talking with my parents in urdu I am so busy expressing myself and they are so busy listening to me that they don’t correct me. In fact I think if they start correcting me we won’t go anywhere in our conversation. My little brother and sister who’s urdu are pretty good do make it a point to correct but then again I always get annoyed as it always happen that I am in the middle of something important. The only comfort I can give myself is that when people hear me at least they laugh and I like making people laugh. (Although I do wish that I wouldn’t be making a complete fool out of myself in the process)
I heard this really cool quote today “Practice till you get it right then practice till you can’t do no wrong”. It makes a lot of sense. That’s what I need to start doing in math.

Tomorrow is university day. I have computer class tomorrow. Hope it will be fun. Anyways that’s all for today folks. I am in one those very restless mood for some reason.
Anyway take care ! Eat healthy and dream big…..

My most top 6 secrets.

Today is a big day in this blog. Why ? Because “shhhhhhhh, I am going to tell you guys my top most 6 secrets” so whoever read my today’s post will find my secrets. I feel that I owe it to you guys since you take the time to read my posts. But first I will tell you guys what happened today. For the first time in the history of my family’s life , I , Meera woke up at 9:15 (APPLAUSE). This miracle occurred today because yesterday I slept at 10:45 after a long time. Anyway when my siblings see me awake they make some pretty sarcastic comments. My sis went like ‘Oh my God. It’s a miracle. MAMA PAPA appi (big sis) is awake without anyone forcing her out of bed”. My bro went like “Should I call the ambulance is everything ok”. I started laughing my head of when I heard the ambulance part. Anyway today is a windy sandy day in Dubai. I have no idea why we are getting such weather today. It looks so dull outside quite a contrast to yesterday. Today there will be no full moon greeting the night. (sigh)
My day was a usual typical Friday. I woke up wanting to listen to Maaeri by Euphoria. (utterly love that song, surprisingly now people hardly remember it, once upon time it was in everybody’s mind) I helped my mom with everything. She made us a lunch fit for kings and queens. (I love her cooking) Speaking of which I am pathetic at cooking. Because I don’t try it at all and get bored with it. Somebody once told me that I am bound to be a better cook then my mom because I am learning from her. And since she is such a good cook she will pass me all her secret and tips. So I will be learning cooking without really making an afford. It makes sense but I am too lazy to try.
Today is Pakistan vs Sri Lanka’s cricket match. To tell you the truth Pakistan are playing very bad. I mean I hate watching them when they are losing. They are team with good potential but lack confidence I think…..or maybe fate doesn’t help them out. For once I don’t feel like talking or even thinking about today’s new. I guess I am kind of fed up and feel so sorry for it. And it annoys me to so greatly that I can’t do anything and all I can do is feel sorry for it. Anyway lets get down to my most top 6 secrets :

My most top 6 secret:
I have only drunk coffee once and I hated it so much that haven’t drunk it since then. I only drink tea.
Most people are gaga over “Durr” by strings but me I go gaga over “Sar Kiye” .
I love Meg Ryan movies for some reason. Well at least most of them.
Although I love reading fantasy but truth be told I enjoy a combination of funny and fantasy even more.
I hate shopping for clothes. Because I am pathetic at it
If it was allowed and normal I would love to wear uniforms in university. (would save me a lot of decision-making)

So there was my top most 6 secret. Do you know curiosity kills the cat . Totally agree with the statement. That’s all for today.

Ciao ! (ciao is an Italian word and it also means hello)

what happened after the intial boredom

I wanted to write last night but was feeling to lazy and didn’t update you guys on what happened after the initial boredom. Surprisingly things changed for the better. When it was time for the vans from my university to leave we discovered that only two vans were leaving instead of three. My classmates who had disappeared after it was announced that no teacher would come, showed their faces second time in the whole day. It turns out that four of my classmate who lives in sharjah have to come in our van as they don’t have any choice. So everybody was cram in the van but had a blast. Since all my seniors supporters where there plus it was my van I would say proudly to my classmate “this is my van so you guys can’t do anything and can’t mess with me”. Everybody fooled around. My van friends also discovered that one of my friend was ticklish. They just wouldn’t let him go. Everybody kept tickling him and he kept jumping from his seat like Jack –in –the-box. In end he was muttering ‘where I have I landed of all the places, never even again am I going to come here, please somebody STOP the van’. It was so hilarious.

As time passed in the van I realized my doom was coming. All my seniors’ friends were getting off at their stop and soon I would be left alone with my classmates. So I decided when my last friend (senior supporter) leave I will simply ignore the presence of my classmates. This way my own words can’t be used against me and soon my classmates would get bored and stop attacking me for not supporting them. Anyway my classmates apparently didn’t like my silence. (very shocking) I was called out like 10 times with different names to annoy me further but no response for me. I sat quietly staring out of the window ignoring the noises going on behind my back. It started to get really funny….. I mean my classmate refused to be treated like non-entity. Different hilarious tactics were used (All I allowed myself to do was smile. As nobody can hear you smile.) One of them even announced how Harry potter book 7 is coming out but that didn’t work. Another one said that these days I don’t talk with them even though they are my class fellows.(by then I wouldn’t help laughing a bit for one of them were acting very stubborn and persisted in going on) Anyway at last I was warned by Mr stubborn that he would come in the front to show me his face as I refused to look at them at the back. I thought that wasn’t going to happen so I ignore it like any other comment. There I was looking outside from the window and I don’t know what made me look at my left. I guess it was suddenly too quiet or I wanted to check my books to see that none of my classmates were sabotaging with it. Anyway I turned my left and much to my hilarity I see my classmate’s head (Mr stubborn or persistence) leaning backwards from the back. At first look one would have thought that his head is floating in mid air but I guess maybe I was mentally prepared for it (u can expect anything from my classmates) I burst out laughing. So does everybody I think. My mind was too made up to comment anything but I do have a good laugh over it. The lesson learned over here is some people can go to any extent to make their jokes noticed.

My stop comes and I thank God mentally for letting me survive till the 15-20 minutes with my classmates. Last semester I was the ONLY girl in my class. There were about 13 guys I think and only me. Maybe to some people its no big deal but I don’t come from a co-ed school (not allowed over here) and I had just completed my school and was jumping directly to university. So it was a MEGA-ENVIRONMENT change. My classmates are pretty cool as long as they are not teasing me or manipulating my name or asking me repeated questions or all are not ganging up against me. This semester finally a girl showed up in my class.(it was a miracle) Some how her quiet presence have made me a lot bolder so lately I am more outspoken then I use to be. To cut the long story short I am more talkative. One of my senior friend said how I am like this proverb “still water runs deep”….. and I wonder if I really am…

Today’s headline:
I am the part of my university magazine. (yaaaaa, a tiny dream come true)
Finally after 5 or 6 days I got to speak with my school friend Hydroxide. Turns out that they are in a mess in school (they get to have so much fun without me)
Bush simply can’t leave Iran alone.
March madness is here. (basket ball season in Amrica, march madness is a new owrd i learn this week)
X-MEN 3 will soon be out…..

That’s all for today folks……
Do drop in again
Take care and enjoy life.

BORED

I am so bored.....why is my life so unproductive ??? I am stuck in the university and can't do anything. My teacher wasn't able to come and I was looking forward to class. I don't have anything to study as without an authority presence its weird studying.... The thing is I only have four subjects a week meaning four class which are 3 hours. Thats not much of learning if you ask me. Plus whatever I am learning its easy to retain in y brains. And after a long holiday after O Levels I want to learn new things to prevent my brain from rotting. Because I don't want my brains to rot I have started reading newspaper religiously even if its just skimming through it because then I get to learn whats happening around the world. Thats why I have become a bit political influenced. And I start solving every Sudoku puzzle I get because it my brain start ticking.... I am purely frustrated now.... it will probably take me whole day to cool off and get over it......Anyway I hope your day is more productive then mine.... Take care. See you in night (if i am not bored to death)

My mellow mood....

Today my 12 year old brother asked me to help him in his Math HW. (very rare occurrence, so I was happy that at least he dread Math enough to do his HW)When I was free I sat down with him to help him. To my delight it was simple percentage sum. When I explained him the sums more surprisingly he understood it. I stare at him shock. So I stopped solving the sums and just started explaining him how to do each word problem. Suddenly his face from that “understanding face” turned into a complete “clueless look”…. Then it dawns me that why he asked me to sit there to help him. He didn’t want me to explain the word problem but actually solve the sum. I didn’t know whether to start laughing at my brother sheer slyness or give him one whack on the head for such a sleek trick…. Well I did none but let his face remain ‘clueless’ and tell him with a smirk smile “I have explained you the word problems I am sure you won’t have any problem solving it…” You know when it comes to explaining studies whether it’s Math, Physics or anything I am pathetic at it. I don’t have the tact to explain things unless you are very patient person and have the time to figure out the beginning, middle and ending of the theory or Math sum. Or unless you have a test and I am the only person free enough to sit and explain you whatever I can….. (I dread those moments before exams because I have notice I meddle everything for my friends instead of helping them)…..
So how was my day ? Very nice…. was in a total mellow mood….enjoying the world…..it was a beautiful day, blue, not-so cloudy sky, birds chirping everywhere and enough wind to cool you off the sunny weather. I went around humming songs in my head. Don’t you hate it when that happens ? All you want to do is sing at the top of your lungs because you are in that singing mood but you can’t because obviously people will stare and its simply isn’t done…..

Anyway that’s all for today or tonight… Take care…

PS its full moon night....the night when magic happens...witches meet, fairies celebrate and unexplainable things happen…..true wishes also come true and one dreams the undreamable (How can anything be not undreamable…..and ya such word does exists.)

Pakistan an unpolished diamond.....

Doesn’t reading Paulo Coelho makes you want to believe in each and every dream you ever had? It makes you believe that if today you start to believe that you can fly , you will start flying….. I so thoroughly enjoy his books. They do good to my soul. Sometime when I am caught up with the lines I actually have to stop and take a deep breath for each and every word to sink in. After finishing his book I also want to start dreaming all I have ever dreamt and want to achieve in life. My goals don’t seem far away and I feel that all I need to do is stretch my hand and I will have it…..
Lately I am obsessed with my country…. And I want to do something to improve it. Everybody I meet points out and criticizes Pakistan and I am one of them too. It’s just nice to sit down and list out each and every problem and issue that Pakistan is facing. But nowadays I am realizing “hey I am also a part of my country and till now I haven’t even raise a finger to make a change” So why am I am sitting and complaining ? Am I not as much to blame….
If it is to be, its up to me”. To bring out the change in your life you need to change. You need to make that step. I haven’t taken that step. I always stood in the same place as I always have and expected somebody else to reach out and bring the things that I need…. Which is so selfish and self-centered….Also lately I have been thinking that why am I so obsessed with Pakistan’s politics ? What I should be worrying about are the homeless, poor children of Pakistan who are forced to work…. I should be worrying about the poverty in Pakistan …..the rural area’s women who are not allowed to be educated because the people in rural area don’t believe in educating women…….
Waiting for the politician of Pakistan to bring any change is like waiting for the sun to rise in the east. I haven’t started yet and I really don’t know when I will start but I do know that this is all I want to do. I don’t know how I will be able to bring that change or at least some change….but tomorrow I don’t want to die thinking that I have done nothing for the future of Pakistan. Like every country Pakistan has its unlimited potential and talents….its like a diamond covered with dirt and black and soot…..with lots of polishing and hard work one day (InsAllah) is will shine and look like a diamond. But just because now it does have its problems and troubles doesn’t mean its not a diamond.

Name sensitivity and today’s headline

Hi everybody ! I read a very interesting article today on “blogging”. Do you know blogging has become a new craze ? Mostly it’s famous among teenagers. (No surprise).
Whatever said and done I am really enjoying blogging. Anyway here’s something I just noticed in my home. Which is I don’t know why my younger brother and sister thinks it very appropriate to scream for me whenever they want to tell me something or show me something or need my help. Whenever they do that I feel as if the maid is being called. In many ways its really sweet of them to remember me when they know the stuff they are showing me are things I will enjoy or find interesting but every time I hear “Appii !!!” (big sister) my minds go blank because I wonder what’s up. Or if I am in a middle of something important its like a drag to get up and find out what they want. Anyway I love them. They are the best. I do wish sometime that I would be more around for them and not lose my temper as sometime I do when I am having a bad day.
So how was my day ? Well it flew. Literally ! My computer test was ok. It would have been better if I would have worked more for it. But I needed a break ! Ok I have a question to ask you guys . Are you sensitive about the way your name is pronounced or spelled ? I am….. I don’t why… but it’s not something bad. It’s just that I expect people to remember the way my name is spelled and not make fun of it. That’s not really much to ask. I mean I always make it a point to remember how an individual name is spelt and pronounced so I expect the same courtesy. Lately people have found a way to tease me by pronouncing my name in a different and unique manner and I tell them to stop. ( I know it’s the wrong way to go about telling people to stop. I mean when you want somebody to stop it you ignore them and act as if they are a non-entity) The thing here is that I am demanding for the courtesy which I think I deserve. I am NOT at ALL lonely.... I HAVE everybody....

Hello People !!! Does it happen to you when you are in the middle of your favorite drama and suddenly you remember you have to call someone who needs your help? You weren’t available the last time that person called so she or he left a message for you to call her or him back at that particular time. And now you realize this is the last episode of the drama but still you have to call this person. There’s no avoiding it. Ya this is what happened to me today. My favorite drama which is “Dhoop Kinaray” was on. And it was the last episode. I pray to God before reaching the phone and dialing the number that it will be engage but it wasn’t.In fact she picked it up at first ring. While listening on the phone and trying to make out what my friend is saying and what her problem is my minds get really frustrated. I mean here somebody is asking for help and I am trying to make out the mute words of my favorite actor. In the end I stop looking at tv and try to figure out what my friend is saying. She has a computer glitch ! I realize that hey I am “zero” when it comes to computer. Why in the world is she talking with me? I try to explain how I really don’t know anything and she should be talking with a programmer but its going in deaf ears. I feel like crying. This is my favorite drama we are talking about ? I want to just hang up the phone since I know where the conversation is leading. My mind starts screaming all the things my mom has drilled inside me (it helps me not to bang) qualities like “patience” and “politeness” but somehow I have a very difficult time remembering it. In the end I get straight to the point. “I really don’t know anything, I have to go now, I will drop by tomorrow to see if I can figure out”. I say my “goodbyes” only to find that drama on the last scene. I want to start crying then and there, not because the scene is so touching but I know that I will have to stay up really late to see the whole drama all over again just for the scenes I have missed. (SIGH)
Anyway tomorrow I have a computer test and I haven’t studied a bit. This is the postponed test. I did study for it last time but have forgotten each and everything. I don’t feel like studying for it because computer is not something I enjoy. By the way have you heard that song “I am so lonely, I have nobody to call of my own…….”. You must have….. well I haven’t (at least not the original version) but I have heard every other person either humming it or singing it on top of their lungs. I am fed up. I mean do those people realize that there’s 20 human beings standing around them. And most of them are his or her friends. So I came up with a better version. The letters in capital are the part you have to stress on while singing “I am NOT at ALL loneelly, I HAVE everybooooodddy, to call of MY OWN.”. The original singer has nothing to complain about. Because if he hears the pathetic version of song I have heard he is bound to like my version better. Except I won’t sing it myself as I have a sorry-voice. Anyway that’s all for today I guess. Wish me luck for my test though !

Take care and have fun and enjoy life !

Yesterday while blogging meaning jumping one link to another (its an excellent way to go to blogs that you are bound to like if you start from a blog's links that your familiar with) , although this will work about 98% because then I came across this blog that I so NOT like. That blog was funny as well stood against some of my principles. It was a total chauvinist blog (to be more descriptive) !!!I think that guy did everything and said everything in the blog to make women look bad. At first I was so annoyed but then when I continued reading I actually started laughing. The guy was so obssesed in criticizing in women I think in a way he was one lost soul drifting from place to place never finding what he wants. Prejudice is one thing I cannot stand.(But as human being there have been time when I have been prejudiced about things, am still on somethings or on some people but I do try to cure myself of it) Whether its women looking down at men or vice versa or racisms or anything linked prejudice I tend to get fire up all about it.
If one friends betray you doesn't mean everybody who walks into life will betray you or all your friends are like that. One thing I have learned (the hard way) in life that you shouldn't expect anything from anyone. It will save you lot of disappointments. Also the root of prejudice is always fear or just pure raw hatred. In most cases I would like to imagine thats its fear because at least fear can be cured easy way but hatred is one thing thats so not easy to cure. And I am not talking about the "hate" we talk in life. "I hate this show", "I hate apples" , no I am talking about hate which is so strong that even the sight of it or him or her or even knowing that it or him or her exist eats you everyday of your life. Most of the time we walk in our life thinking that we really hate this or that or him or her , in reality we walk in life hurt, with huge misunderstandings or in fear. Its sad though. For that blogger I do feel sorry for. (Mr chauvinist blogger if by any chance u do come across this blog, you have my full sympathy as well as my pity).
Anyway today was a nice day. We get only one day where the full family is there to cool off. I spoke to my three year old cousin today. When she was small, hmmm maybe about 1 year or something , I just happened to touch her frock to see what material it was made of. Gosh the way that one year old cousin of mine snatched the corner of the frock as if I had dirtied it or even worst was going to take it away from her. The looks that accompanied with the snatching was "don't touch my frock or you die" had me rolling laughing. I realized that even kids whether 9 or 1 were so self -conscious and so self-protecting.
Ok remidner to myself: I need to stop confusing "then" and "than"

So thats all for today everybody.
Take care !

ps Barbie is actually getting out of fashion. And everybody want "bratz" thse days. Whats the world coming too ? How canbody prefer bratz over barbie ?

yesterday and today

I had a BLAST yesterday. Ok not exactly a BLAST but good fun. My univ celebrated “basant” yesterday and it was the first time I saw somebody flying kites. Ok for people who don’t know what “basant”is, it’s this festival or this semi holiday where people wear bright-colored clothes (mainly yellow and green, these are the basic colours but any bright color will do) and we fly kites. From what I have heard from the sky gets filled with colourful kite , there’s good music and tasty food. We celebrate it when mustard plant start blooming its yellow flowers. That’s why people usually wear yellow clothes. Its kind of like welcoming the harvest. Basant is celebrated in India and Pakistan. And since I have never really stayed in Pakistan long enough so I haven’t celebrated any of the proper pakistani festivals.
Yesterday started with me jumping out of the bed with heavy mind. It was also the day when I had to end the prank and I didn’t really feel prepare for it. The prank was that this childhood friend (doesn’t exist) would be looking for my classmate (the victim) and he would never be able to find her (childhood friend) but will get messages from certain individuals (Allies) on how this childhood friend is looking for my classmate. So yesterday I was suppose to give him a letter that had her contact number. The contact number was actually our univ’s number. If you had ask me how this prank was I would have told you its “PATHETIC” but I can’t go around calling my own prank pathetic can I ? Well judging from my mood ya you guys guessed right, it worked too smoothly. The victim fell for it and called up the univ. Surprisingly the victim actually took it very nicely. (Not like me. I would have started screaming at everybody involved) I have also made my mind that now my classroom is not exactly a safe pace for me so from now onwards I won’t stick around in it as can be pranked by somebody.
Anyway to get to the point the basant meaning kite-flying was supposed to start somewhere around 4 or 5. Everybody was excited. When I announced to people that I was staying everybody reactions was “why” and that “I should reconsider”. Because people were staying till like 7 and nobody thought I had the strength or the ability to stick around that late. In the end I did stay. It was nice hanging around with my friends. We had good laugh but then by 3 everybody was bored so everybody decided that the kite-flying can be started early. All of us marched outside. To tell you the truth I expected ZERO wind but was so wrong. It was so windy that the plate of dahi puri (very nice spicy food) I was holding whooshed from my hand and slammed on to my friend’s dress. Her clothes were ruined !!! Then of course there was the kite-flying. Ok only about 3 people out of like 10 were really able to fly kites. And only one kite flew pretty good height. And it turned out to be the kite of my classmates. Yesterday my class took everybody by bombshell when they decided to stick around for festivity. So everybody was buzzing with compliments. Then at 5 I was shipped off or more like packed of in a car and sent driving home.
In the car I heard this song ( U& I)from Hum Tum. I must have heard this song like a million times and yesterday for the first time I actually understood the Punjabi in it. And now that I understand the song I enjoy it. I enjoy it so much that I have heard it more than 20 times since yesterday. So that was yesterday. The rest of it is not that exciting to write about. Today was peaceful. I woke up from such a long and nice sleep. My mom finally succeeded (ok more like threatened and forced me) in making me clean my wardrobe. This is one chore that I truly detest because its so boring. Ok that’s all for today folks. I’m going to curl up with a book now. By the way not to be too boastful I finally got full in my English test. Don’t ask me how ? I mean one can’t get full in a English test right ? But who cares. And in the business test that I was dreading, I got 17.5/20. Anyway guys keep safe, eat healthy and drink water ! (No liquid can replace the good H20)

Issues

Shockingly bloggers of Pakistan are blocked. Why ? I have no idea !!! I guess next thing or moment they will be stopping the press. I don't know. Sometime I wish these things would dissappear or be things that I don't need to be concerned about. The fact is that these things matter so much and it will have such a impact in my life. It doesn't matter if its small or big or good or bad but it matters. In business studies we have learned something called "Environment Uncertainty" where you have no control on whats happening around your life and this is one of those things. The sad part is I am not even trying to do anything about it. Begin charity at home. I think I need to bring that change in me first before opening my big mouth and going and doing whatever I think is right. Also I need to be more educated and gain more knowledge and there are so many things !!! How am I ever going to do all these things ?
Today in some press conference President Musharaf made it clear that we did benefited from George Bush's visit. His point were that our economy would increase and that we need to start from the "scratch" to bring a difference in Pakistan. ( Thats a lot of work to.) He explained everything that he wanted to do. He also said that he is not doing anybody any favour by fighting the war against terrorism because his first and only thoughts concern Pakistan. Overall the interview went well. He did answer every question, maybe the answers were not always satistfying well at least he gave some of the press the rights to answer the questions. On the lighter note Mission (POXZ) seems to be going somehwere. I am concerned about "double standards" as things went too smoothly today. Or maybe its my guilty feelings surfing up like this huge wave. (I don't want to do it now. I am just doing it because I started the whole thing. There's a lesson in it from me. Meera can't do pranks) The annoying part is that even with the "guilt" I went ahead and did something that will hopefully take place after 11am. If I'm lucky the prank will work like a charm (will be dissappointed if t doesn't) and if it doesn't (fingers crossed, ya the guilty feeling is coming again) "well at least I tired!!!" So people thats all for tonight.
Be safe, don't act stupid and do think before you play a prank !!!

Last night.....

Last night was full of surprises. Like I can't be the president of my country. Because its not allowed. No more warning people to be nice to me or to stop making fun of my name because now I can't boast " what would you do if I turned out to be the president of my country, then you would have to be falsely nice to me and pronounce my name properly". Well at least I can be the prime minster. But I had my heart set on being the president. So there goes my one of my dream and goal. Another thing is that I need to learn about my religion more. I don't know anything about it. I am such a dumb person. Probably will rot in hell for not even trying to learn. My friend like to joke how we will get VIP seats reserved for us. Its funny while we are saying it but so sad and TRUE. I will probably go there to find my name in italics. Ok lets change the subject..... its going way out of hand plus way out of my imagination. Its 9:28 am and I realize that I have been swindled. Why ? Because nobody is planning to show up for class today. At least thats what I think ! I am just praying that I am dead wrong because if nobody shows up I will still have to attend class as I have nothing better to do and then I will be dozing off half the class. While if my classmates show up at least theres a chance of me staying awake because my classmates fool around a lot. Last night I slept reallly late. Its not in my habit to sleep late but bad habits are not difficult to form and I have it now. How did it started ? Because I started sleeping in the afternoon as I use to get tired. So now I have to stop sleeping in the afternoon (which is also a bad habit) to get rid of my two bad habits !! When I was in 6th grade and 7th I was in the habit of having my dinner at 7 (still do!!!) and use to sleep at sharp 9pm. So when I had exams and was in tuition there was those dreadful days when I use to get stuck in my tuition because I hadn't finish studying. So as soon it use to struck 8 all the kids in my tuition use to start staring at me. As my teacher showed no mercy ( I deserved it because I didn't use to do the revision or use to just forget it even after 100 revisions) and I had to finish everything and only then leave. And it was difficult staying up late. I remember as it was 8 my eye lids use to feel so heavy and even though I use to be hungry it didn't matter. There were times when the my books would have made wonderful pillows. Anyway have to go now. Class will be starting. They did't bunk after all. Its just that some of my classmates decided not to show up. No surprise. We will be getting our business result. And I am not looking forward to it. See u later!

I got the highest !

I have turned into this BIG SHOW OFF in class where I simply refuse to let anybody get higher marks then me. Today I drove everybody crazy with their Maths mark as I wanted to make sure that I got the highest. I got 93% which was very cool. Then I had to start asking everybody marks. The looks I got seemed of pure hatred. As they didn't know and didn't want to know. But that didn't prevent me from my blabbering and stuff and even worst my questions about how they did in their maths test. In the end I just went to my maths teacher and asked her if I got the highest. She smiled at me and gave me that look and then I knew I got the higest. I started squealing in the class like a total idiot. But I deserved to act a bit foolish. I mean getting highest in maths with a good % is like getting a star in your hand. So my day really started well. That was before I got my last semester transcript. My GP was 3.5 which is beautiful excpet my friend had to get 3.62 !!! Now I am rolling up my sleeve for a battle. How dare he get higher then "moi" ? So I intend get 4 in each subject next time and work really hard for it. Everybody in my class think that I am total nerd , which I am not !!! I hate studying except when it has to do with English. And my English is pretty good because of my interest in it. This time I just need to wok on Business and Maths and level everything.
Today my mobile got kidnapped:
Suspects:
Mr Z ( because I played a prank on him, probably wants to get a revenge)
Mr F ( He is a naughty pixie always up to mischief)
Mr B (because today I troubled him for no reason at all. Which was good FUN)
Probably the whole class because of me annoying them.

I went to Mr R for help !!! And whined "somebody took my mobile. I want it back NOW". It did work because he simply asked Mr F who he strongly suspected. And he was right. I got my mobile back. And I have told Mr F clearly that I am not going to share any chips, chocolates or any junk food I carry.

Another thing is Mission ( P.O.XZ) has started !!! ( P.O.XZ stands for prank on Mr XZ) Please please if any soul is reading this pray that it works. Its the first truely prank I played on anybody and it would be such good fun if it works. Plus Mr xz truely deserves it. If not then I would have to come up with a better one which requires a lot of thinking and resouces on my part.

Other then that theres nothing special in the news yet. Except Pakistan, India and Iran are planning to go ahead with their pipe line deal. BTW my hourly got canceled. By me !! I told the sir not to take it and he didn't. It was a miracle. Anyway thats all for now ! I am writing from the unviersity and can't wait to get home and SLEEP !

Tata.

Just another day.........

Today I woke up really late !!! At 11 to be more exact. That also when my mom rang the door bell and I had to wake up to open the door. My mom looked at with me a look that clearly said “how can you sleep so late?” and I gave her my guilty look “I am so sorry but sleep is my way of forgetting the tensions of the world and my own”. Because of my waking up late I was FAR behind my chores. Big time !! So I had to rush everything. Things weren’t helping because on TV George Bush and President Musharraf’s interview was coming and I wasted time on the TV instead of doing my chores. By 1 I was rushing things like anything ,while my mom was enjoying my rushing because I knew I was in for a lecture from my dad. Because he would show up at 2 and I looked like a total mess and was bound to be late for my lunch with them. And it did happen when I picked up my brush to comb my scarecrow’s hair , the door bell rings. I start saying my prayers and as soon as my dad enters he calls out to me. I look at my untouched scarecrow hair and decide to face the music because it would take me 10 minutes to make myself looking presentable. Surprisingly my dad doesn’t notice what a mess I was looking. He tells me about the printing errors in the print out (by the way my printer did print out the documents ! When I restarted the computer last night it started to take the print out. I was so happy. I guess the black cat turned out to be lucky for me) As soon as he is finished talking I rush out of the room and start doing some damage control. My dad is very particular when it comes to looking “neat and tidy”. When I was small and had a boy-cut hair I use to be always make sure that my hair was presentable. Why ? Because if it was in a mess or even a single hair was out of place he use to take out his comb , grab my chin with a firm grip (ouch) and start combing my hair. And it was so embarrassing. It turns out that my aunts who are twenty younger to my dad use to get the same treatment when they were small and had boy-cut hair !!! All my younger male cousins have hair-cuts and chop there hair to nothing when they hear about the arrival of my dad because they also have suffered the chin-grabbing and the embarrassment. Even adult brothers of my dad aren’t spare. They are spared the chin-grabbing but are given a lengthy lecture on appearances (that’s why I was afraid today). Since my dad is the second eldest in the family he has every right to lecture them and when he is in a bad mood I would prefer the chin –grabbing rather the lecture. !!! Anyway after my lunch, I revised for my hourly that’s going to take place tomorrow. Wish me luck ! Because currently I can't remember anything. Then the rest of the evening I just channel surfed to see George Bush’s visit to Pakistan. Its very interesting how both president spoke their concerns on whatever issue they most strongly felt for. I also felt that the meeting really didn’t start anything big, it was historical but I don’t see any historical impact taking place. Its just historical because George Bush took out the time to visit Pakistan. One of thing that I felt strange how people like Imran Khan were under house arrest because of George Bush arrival. And of course Imran Khan accused Bush of supporting a military dictatorship while trying to promote “democracy”. I don’t see the fact that President Musharaf is in the military as a problem. Imran Khan should be attacking Musharaf opinions not stressing on his being in the military. Why ? Its all about opinions and your principles. Even a king who is wise and kind can rule his country wisely and lead it to prosperity without being a dictator or taking away its people freedom of speech. Maybe all this sound very idealistic but its not impossible. Another funny thing was just when President Musharaf gave a lengthy speech on how democratic Pakistan is on the other side of Pakistan Imran Khan is put under house arrest because he was bound to do protestation. (isn’t protesting and rallying part of freedom of speech ?)“ So anyway George Bush ‘s visit to Pakistan was really boring. Just a masquerade ball to please I don’t who ? Maybe George Bush himself. Now the question is ? What will the Pakistan prime minster’s visit to London lead ? Or what are the motives behind. We will soon find out. Enough for today I guess. Take care and enjoy every blessings you have in life !

I found my first post

Yaa I found my first post. Now its there. It was saved in a draft. Maybe I am not such a computer jinx after all ! so now the first post is there for everybody to read and hopefully to enjoy. ( who said I was modest)

Ciao

Wrong person

When I thought about having this blog, I completely forgot how I don't know anything about computer !!! And now I am again reminded about this very tiny fact but with very strong implications. Why this sudden lost of confident ? Because my first post its gone. Or something is very wrong in my personal computer.Because I can't see it anywhere ! Maybe I forgot to save the settings of my first and first post and now I don't have it. Plus my printer is not wroking. Which is annoying the hell out of me. I don't need the computer for my needs but my dad needs and this makes me feel even worst because he needs the print-out for his office. I have tried everything to make my printer work. From trouble shooting to banging my computer. (no I didn't bang my computer but was very close to it) And I still haven't gotten the print out. Its 9:50 pm and I feel like blaming this black cat which I saw in my parking lot for all my bad luck. To tell you the truth I wanted to take the cat home with me when I saw it. There's something really mysterious and alluring about a black cat. Plus it was the first ever truely black cat did I see in my life. I also saw light green birds yesterday in my university. Which is really cool, I mean UAE is hardly a place where you find green birds flying freely. Plus it was a pair and not just one bird so I am sure they were migrating. This week I saw a lot of birds migrating. You know the guys in my class, what do they remind me of ? Any gusses ? Ya birds !!! They always remind me of a flock of birds. I guess because whenever I see one guy from my class, I am bound to see at least 3 or 4 of the other. Yesterday when I happened to see just one as the rest hadn't shown up it was so annoying to my eyes. I felt like saying to him "go away, I am so use to seeing more heads then a single one, I can't concentrate on what you are saying".
Anyway my day wasn't really bad. I woke up with a very nice and peaceful sleep and it was Friday. But the whole printer thing had to ruin it. (Oh well, I guess this is life) Today George Bush has reach Pakistan. I am so afraid that the protests in Pakistan will get out of hand and people will die. 3 in India are already dead because of the protests that took place against George Bush. I don't really know what to say about it. Its just very sad. George Bush's visit to Pakistan will be interesting. Especially after the fact that he signed the nuclear pact with India. And Pakistan kind of expect the same treatment. Ok me signing off. Enough of eating my reader's brain. I recommend a panadol.

Ciao People !!!

Yaaaa MY FIRST POST !!!

I can't believe that I have my own blog !!! Hats off to myself !
One month back I had n't even heard the word "blogging" (I'm from planet venus) ! Its only when a friend online gave me links to blogs he liked that I got to know what "blogs" actually were. And when my friend told me how he wanted his own blog, I also thought about having my own blog. I mean why not, if its so easy ! I kept putting it off thinking that maybe I am just being dumb but today when I saw this very huge article on "blogging" it was like this huge signpost announcing to myself that "I can do it, after all its just an online diary". So here I am with a blog. Which is a very creepy feeling because I can imagine millions of people reading my post now. Imagination can be very helpful sometime but it does make you sick in the stomach sometime. For those millions people I am imagining in tiny dots I can see their sarcastic expression. Which reminds of me a sarcastic expression I got today when I landed up in my university and people thought I was crazy to come there just for some stupid print out. I was too lazy to tell them the reasons I really came to my university.

Reasons why I went to university today and am not crazy like my classmates think !

  1. I was bored ! (Am not anymore)
  2. Didn't wanted to stay home (my siblings were at home and i knew if stayed i would have to teach them maths.)
  3. Wanted to see my senior friend who I knew was free in the morning but had a class in the afternoon. ( I had so much FUN with her)
  4. Study ( forgot this part)
  5. Take printouts ( I did this)
  6. Do my hw (its english i am sure I can do it in 20 mimutes)
  7. Play a prank on a certian-somebody . (rethought my strategy and decided against it)
  8. Make this blog ( wasn't sure but after the article i found in the library i made a giant leap from the library to the computer lab)

Ok thats all for today ! I might dissappear for two days as need to do some very important unfinished business. Lets hope my self control is stronger then my laziness.

Adiues Amigos !!
